I had the impression that this site was like a monologue at times so I started writing a little everywhere

Not many.

But please allow me to explain. I consider an active user as someone who posts on the site and a passive one to be a current member who just reads. Besides those, you have first time visitors.

Currently there are not many active members I admit. But there's a reason for that, the site has been dormant for quite a while, you can confirm this by looking at the date when the topics were first created. I told you this before I had more important things to focus on and couldn't look after the site.

I had made substantial changes to the website, I have merged a lot of domain/subdomains into this .com version of Clever Dodo. Google and other search engines did not like that and rankings on a lot of keywords have dropped. This will take at least a few months to get back to what it was before and I still have to make other changes.

Your comments brought quite a few people back to the website but they just read what you wrote and left. There are many others who did not get an email notification because I have changed the email address we sent email from (from .mu and .co.uk to the .com address), so a lot of the emails have landed in users' spam/junk mailboxes. When they first registration, they would have had to verify their email address and would have marked our email address as safe then but now sending through a different address causes trust issues with email providers. Not much we can do about though.

I am not after the quantity of posts but rather at the quality of the posts. When someone asks a question and I post a reply, I make sure it gives them all the information they require. So a question can have just one answer but that's all it needs. Having 20 one line comments does not contribute much in my opinion. When people land on a lot of our pages, they get all the info they need which means they don't need to comment on those topics, so they just leave. I'm fine with this as it serves our purpose, to truly help people without any selfishness whatsoever. Of course, I'd be happy if they became members but if we'd been able to help in any way, that's all that matters.

Besides you have me to talk to so it will not be a monologue :P

'Google and other search engines did not like that and rankings on a lot of keywords have dropped' maybe you need to re register to them. '' There are many others who did not get an email notification '' the notifications are appearing on the 'notifications' part of the gmail. I understand for the comments. I usually write long answers but since I'm not well at times so I can't stay focus too long and the fact that i can lose all my long answer. I'm weary of writing too much. I'll try to be brief but precise for now. Yeah at least I have you. I'm not sure if you laugh at my humour.

Email notifications for you will be delivered directly in your inbox because you registered on the .com site. The issue is with users who created accounts on the .mu/.uk site which is the majority of the users.

If you tick the "Keep me signed in" checkbox when you log in, you can take as long as you need to post your answer. Sometimes all you need is a short answer and sometimes a longer one, it depends on the topic so don't take what I said personally.

I do find you quite interesting as we share quite a lot in common, except for politics :|

haha don't worry about the politics. Like i said. I'm only interested in this topic because i'll be voting in one week. Also, i tend to write from general view or catering to minorites and i use comments from third parties as questions but I modify then in such a way that you cant find the original questioner. So yeah give me one week and we will have the same view on politics. That is skip that whole topic!
