Do we have only one answer per question?

I'll expand on what @RoseOfUniverse said to bring more understanding to what you asked. We are not looking for many answers on Clever Dodo, we are looking for the best answer to a question.

Many times, when a question is asked, there will be multiple answers from different members - some good and some not so good. We rely on the voting system to determine which answer is the most helpful and answers with the most votes rise to the top so that someone else who comes to the site with the same question can easily find the solution.

There are times when the question itself is not clear and it's difficult to provide a good answer, hence we have the commenting ability on the question where users can ask for more information before they provide an answer.

That being said, sometimes we have already provided an answer but want to add more info to it, maybe because we missed something in the original answer or because we got new information which can help the person better. This is where the edit facility on the answer becomes handy. If we didn't have this, we would keep on adding comments on the answer and it would become difficult to sift through all those answer replies. We believe the answer should contain everything to help a user with their question.

So you land on this page and you see the question and directly below it you have the most helpful answer. Job done.

Other answers may be helpful too but the one at the very top should be the most trusted as it's the community who has deemed it as the most helpful one through votes.

1) if a person can give only one answer to one a question?
Yes, a person can give only one answer to one question. ( you can use the edit button to update your answer)

2) Why do we get only one answer to the question asked?
Well, it depends on people.Some questions have more than one answer, it depends on what people want to give. Even though this is a community website made for Mauritian people or people having an interest in it, one can't force an individual to answer the questions that other people asked. People choose to give what they want to give and we can't force them to do something they don't want to.

I am personally grateful every time I see an individual answering the question of someone else on clever dodo . I believe in that saying

and
shared knowledge= Knowledge ^ 2

One might not know it, but one knowledge( which might appear insignificant for you) can lighten up the road of someone else.( to simple response kapav mem sov enn dimoune so lavie ou tire li dan enn soufrance). I would be very grateful to see more people being active here or to contribute more but like I was saying, we can't force an individual to do something they don't want to.

For me personally, it brings me way more happiness by guiding and helping someone rather than expecting to get anything from people. ( But unexpectedly you do get things from people, since you don't expect anything and you get things, you are like "Wow...that was a very great surprise"( Recently,a person came to my house just to give me a plant as a gift...imagine how happy I was!)
